Why Cenizo?
Austin is on the edge of the "Texas Hill Country," an ecotone where the Balconian, Chihuahuan, and Tamaulipan biotic provinces overlap. One of my favorite plants in this area is the native "Purple Sage," a.k.a. "cenizo," a.k.a. Scrophulariaceae Leucophyllum frutescens.
